Fukuoka City Government hosted ‘RAMEN TECH – Global Summit 2025 –’ over two days on October 8 (Wednesday) and October 9 (Thursday), 2025.

Held during the RAMEN TECH startup festival—a citywide event where the public and private sectors unite—this summit served as an international business matching platform. It aimed to provide startups with a springboard to enter global markets while expanding opportunities for business collaboration and innovation.

Pitch Competition

In the “RAMEN TECH Pitch Battle,” where judges included overseas VCs and accelerators, startups from Japan and abroad competed for the top spot. The winner was amidex Inc, a startup based in Tokushima City developing an innovative dental treatment technology that restores teeth without drilling healthy enamel!

Talk Sessions

In a special session, Eric Jing, CEO of Genspark, took the stage to share insights on how AI will transform the future. (See session highlights here

Additionally, Mayor Soichiro Takashima of Fukuoka City joined a session with Fumiaki Koizumi, Executive Director and President of Mercari, Osamu Ogasawara, Fellow at Sakura Internet Inc., and Satoko Suzuki, Executive Officer of Open Innovation Division at For Startups Inc. Together, they passionately discussed the history and future prospects of Fukuoka’s startup ecosystem from their unique perspectives. (See session highlights here

Business Matching

During the event, Fukuoka-based startup KAICO Inc. signed an MoU with Thailand’s Baiya Phytopharm to collaborate on protein expression services.

In addition, dedicated meeting spaces were set up at the venue to create opportunities for new business partnerships.

RAMEN Content

Continuing the tradition from last year, ramen shops returned to the venue! Eight renowned ramen shops from across Fukuoka—Nidaime Kennosuke, Hakata Daruma, Menya Gorira, Menya Taison, Yatai no Tamachan, Ramen Ichimujin, Ramen Hayakawa, and Ramen Futsuu (listed in Japanese syllabary order)—served authentic flavors to attendees. The event was designed for everyone to enjoy, not just startup professionals but also the general public.

In addition, Marutai provided their signature stick ramen to visitors, and Ichiran sponsored a corporate award for the Pitch Competition. A heartfelt thank you to all partners and supporters who contributed to making this event a success!
