The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
On December 2, the Ministry of the Environment and Fukuoka City co-hosted the "Reduce Methane emissions from landfills around the world! ~Exploring opportunities of the Fukuoka Method~ was held at the Japan Pavilion.
How can the Fukuoka Method, a Japanese environmental technology of semi-aerobic landfill structure, contribute to the improvement of landfills that emit greenhouse gases such as methane gas as well as fires and bad odors?
Through keynote speeches and panel discussions, we discussed the potential of Japanese technology to change the world's environment. The seminar could be viewed online, and more than 100 people from around the world attended the seminar.
