1 System for Delaying Tax Payments
If your income* has decreased due to the impact of COVID-19 and you are struggling to pay your taxes, you can apply to defer your tax payments at the Tax Payment Section of your local ward office. You can delay your payments for one year from the original payment date. Contact the Tax Payment Section of your local ward office for more information.
*”Income” refers to money you have earned through working.
2 Who Can Use This System?
You can use this system if:
①your income has decreased over 20% since February 2020 for a period of over one month due to the impact of COVID-19; and
②you are struggling to pay your taxes.
3 Documents Needed for the Application Procedure
① A Special Tax Deferral Application Form
② Documents proving your income has decreased compared to the same period of the previous year, such as pay slips or your bank book.
