In Fukuoka, barrier-free facilities are increasing in the city center, where steps are being removed and tactile paving and low-floor buses are being introduced. The designs take into consideration the needs of everyone, be they small children or persons laden with luggage, in addition to catering to the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities. The foundations of universal design are comfort and convenience of the users. The designs are thus in accordance with the concept of generous hospitality of Fukuoka, whereby we do our utmost in order to make our visitors feel at home.
