Fukuoka is located in the heart of Kyushu. Here, tourists are able to experience an exceptional urban-oriented tourism which involves shopping, food, theater, sports, and music. Fukuoka attracts tourists for its food, culture, beautiful urban landscape, hospitality, history, and traditions. The local entertainment industry is also thriving with the development of the music scene. Even from a national perspective, Fukuoka has a relatively large population working in design-related industries. Design-related organizations and educational facilities formed the Fukuoka Design League which is now actively in operation. Moreover, in order to create new industries, Fukuoka encourages and sponsors entrepreneurship, and is endeavoring to create a favorable environment for entrepreneurs.
