The Perfect Season for Seaside Parks

Fukuoka is home to several seaside parks located along Hakata Bay. One of the city's most popular destinations in the summer is Fukuoka City Seaside Park in Momochihama. A man-made beach stretches from Jigyohama behind Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome to Momochihama, and another one lies across the Muromi River in the residential district known as Marina Town. The area is chock full of attractions including the Dome, Fukuoka Tower, Fukuoka City Public Library and the Fukuoka City Museum.

One of the most appealing features of this park is convenient access from the city center on public transportation, which makes it a popular recreational spot for couples and families alike. Here, the futuristic dome and tower blend seamlessly with the ocean view, making for a unique landscape. When the sun sets, you can enjoy the light as it gleams off the buildings and then stay for the beautiful nighttime light-up.

Despite being so close to downtown, the area boasts a wide range of seaside fun and games, including beach volleyball courts and a beach soccer pitch. There is a beach house equipped with showers, toilets and lockers, and swimmers and marine sports enthusiasts flock here in the summer. Other attractions include digging for clams when the tide is out and beach concerts.

The daytime-only campground, which is only open during the summer months, is equipped with porta showers, a common food preparation space, and a barbecue area. While some people may find it odd to camp in the middle of the city, there are convenience stores nearby where you can buy whatever you need. Also, your friends who can’t stay over can just stop by for a bite of barbecue before going home. The space is popular with families and groups and great for first-time campers.

海浜公園が気持ちのいいシーズン

博多湾に面した福岡市には海辺で遊べる公園がいくつかあります。そのひとつ、百道浜地区を中心とした福岡市海浜公園は多くの人が訪れたことがあるでしょう。ヤフオクドーム前の地行浜から百道浜、さらに住宅地であるマリナタウン地区まで、人工のビーチが続いており、周辺にはヤフオクドームや福岡タワーなどの観光スポット、総合図書館や博物館などの公共施設が点在しています。

この公園のいちばんの魅力は、公共交通機関で手軽に訪れることができるほど都心に近いこと。そのためデートスポットや家族連れのレジャーに人気があります。またドームやタワーなどの近未来的な建物と、海辺の景色が調和したユニークな景観も魅力のひとつ。海の向こうに太陽が沈む瞬間の周囲があかね色に染まる光景や、美しくライトアップされた夜景も楽しめます。

あまりにも都心に近くて忘れがちですが、海辺のレジャーも充実しています。ビーチバレーやビーチサッカーなどのビーチスポーツが盛んで、各種大会なども開催されています。シャワーやトイレ、ロッカーなどのあるビーチハウスもあり、夏場は海水浴客やマリンスポーツを楽しむ人々に利用されています。潮干狩りも楽しめるし、ビーチでのコンサートなども行われています。

夏季限定でデイキャンプ場（バーベキューコーナー）もオープンします。これまではオートキャンプ場として宿泊もできましたが、今年は昼間の利用に限定されました。それでも、こんなに都心に近くて交通が便利で、しかも海のレジャーが楽しめる場所はほかにありません。シャワーや更衣室も備えていて、バーベキューに必要な食材などは近くのスーパー、コンビニでいつでも購入できます。
